About

Hi, I’m Mac Soulsby. I was born in Philly and I’ve been involved with games my whole life, either making them or enjoying them. I’m a hard worker, and dedicated. Those two qualities led me through the rigorous curriculums of both my high school, Saint Joe’s Prep, a well known difficult school in Philadelphia and the extremely tough classes and courses in Champlain College’s Game Design Major. Reportedly, the Major has an enormous drop and fail out rate. However, more than just my work ethic I have the skills. I’ve taken a huge variety of classes and am able to do a huge variety of tasks on any team. I’ve done QA, a touch of modeling, programming, team management, project management, and much more. But more than all of that however, I’m passionate. I love what I love, and what I love doing is sound design and game design. They’re my absolute favorites and I am always trying out new things and thinking of ideas in those fields.

More Than Comrades

MTC for short was a story heavy RTS that focused on tense gameplay. It was set in an arctic base overrun by ancient monsters. And the player took control of the team of soldiers that was trapped there and over time perhaps the team members would become More Than comrades. For the early parts of development and pre-production I did system designing and was heavily involved in the general design of the game. However when it finally moved out of the documentation and planning phase I began to work as the sound designer.

Planetary Planter

Planetary Planter is a farming game where the player, instead of growing plants, must grow celestial bodies and place them in constellations to restore the destroyed stars. I was the Sound Designer for Planetary Planter, and it was the first time really working “freelance” as I had entered the team, and was given some goals and jobs and worked with the team towards those objectives immediately

Summer 2023

BBEG is a Rouge-Lite game where the player controls a "villain" inspired by fantasy tropes and explores a variety of environments, fighting enemies, claiming relics, and collecting an army of minions. To one day enact their vengeance, conquest or plundering.
